Pork Sinigang Soup

Pork sinigang soup or tamarind (sampalok in Filipino), a traditional and popular Filipino soup dish. The sour taste of tamarind that makes this dish special, simple and easy to prepare. Only need a few ingredients and you will have a delicious sinigang soup. Now a days, you can easily make this soup using a Knorr sinigang mix, which is available to any local Asian store. If you cannot find the sinigang mix, a tamarind paste can be substituted, and can be purchase to any local supermarket which can be found at the Asian aisle. When adding the tamarind paste is best to add small quantity until you achieve the desired taste. Sinigang soup is a versatile dish, you can use any meat other than pork belly, this can be substitute with pork ribs, pork chops, seafood like prawns; fish salmon; barrumundi wings; milk fish, beef and chicken. Best Butter Chicken

Butter chicken or Makhan murg is one of the best Indian curry recipe that I have cooked, the creaminess and full of flavour is always making this dish, and one of my favourite curries. Simple and easy to make, ingredients are readily available in your local supermarket. The availability of fresh produce and authentic spices that make this dishes extraordinary delicious. Butter chicken is best if marinade overnight with yogurt, fresh lemon juice and spices includes: garam masala, ground turmeric and ground cumin. Otherwise marinade at least 2-3 hours before cooking. I used chicken pieces in this recipe, but you can use boneless chicken breast or chicken tights. Butter chicken is best serve with naan bread, papadum, steam rice or cauliflower fried rice . Filipino Green Mango Salad

It's mango season again and I'm so excited to share my simple recipe, Filipino style green mango salad. This recipe is very quick and easy to make. I have this lovely Nam doc mai mango tree in my yard, it has excellent flavour, very sweet when is ripened and so juicy. I take some of unripened mango to make this delicious green mango salad. Green mango salad is best serve with grilled chicken or fish, barbecued pork or prawns and fried fish. Filipino green mango salad usually have shrimp paste and chopped red onions. But, with this recipe I substituted the shrimp paste to fish sauce and removed the onions. And I'd like to add extra spice by adding chopped chilies. Green mango salad is similar to pawpaw (papaya) salad just add chopped toasted peanut and dried shrimp. Overnight chia oats its so easy to prepare and a great way to have a healthy breakfast on the go. Just 3 ingredients add just add extra fresh or frozen fruits, like peeled cut mangoes, strawberries, blueberries, fresh peeled bananas or any fruits available in your area to your liking. Overnight chia seeds and oats, its best to add nuts and extra seeds, if you wish. I've tried adding cashew nuts, almonds, pumpkin seed and flax seed. How to prepare 3 ingredients overnight chia oats 3 Ingredients to make overnight chia oats 1 cup soy milk 1/4 cup rolled oats 2 tablespoon chia seed Toppings - optional 1/2 cup sliced fresh ripe mango 1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds 1 tablespoon toasted coconut flakes Instructions Combine all ingredients in jar put the lid and shake well, then refrigerate overnight. Next morning, pour in a bowl and top with fresh fruits of your choice. Notes With soy milk or substitute to fresh milk, almond milk, coconut milk or simply water.

Pork Siu Mai (Siomai)

Pork siu mai (siomai) is incredibly delicious, always a crowd pleaser. This dim sum recipe is so easy to make, you only need a few ingredients which are available at your local supermarket. Other variation for siu mai (siomai) filling like chopped peeled prawns / shrimp, minced beef, minced chicken. For vegetarian dim sum instead of meat, substitute with mashed soft tofu with chopped mushroom. With the vegetable chestnut can be substitute with chopped cabbage, grated jicama (singkamas), carrots, chopped spring onion. When I make siu mai, I always add a dash of sesame oil for flavouring, chestnut for crunch, grated ginger for taste, garlic and onion. For easiest way, put all these in a food processor and minced into small pieces. I will exclude the the ginger because I like my ginger grated. I love this fresh vegetable spring rolls recipe, it's one of my favourite light meal or snack. It's full of goodness, you can add any fresh vegetables you can think of. String beans, choko, carrots, cabbage, mung bean sprouts, celery, bamboo shoots, green papaya or chest nuts for a bit of crunch. You can also use sweet potato cut into strips. If you want this to be totally vegan, substitute chicken to tofu just cut into small pieces. Or make it seafood add peeled prawns / shrimp. This recipe is so easy to make, you can make your own fresh wrap try my basic crepe recipe or ready made spring roll pastry that you can buy to your local supermarket at the frozen aisle section. This simple and easy recipe, Creamy Chicken Mushroom Fettuccine, is a great meal for a busy weeknight.
