Best Caesar Salad Recipe

Best caesar salad recipe, a quick and easy to prepare for the whole family. This salad best for lunch and dinner and can be eat on its own or with roast chicken, prawns or beef. It's entirely up to you how you serve this delicious recipe.

Make your own croutons, they are super easy and simple to make. Left over or stale bread are great way for making croutons. You can add some herbs or minced garlic to add extra flavour to your croutons.

With this recipe I cheated with my dressing I used a store bought dressing which one of my favourite, Kewpie Japanese salad dressing Roasted Sesame, which you can buy to your local supermarket at the Asian aisle.

How to make the best Caesar Salad recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups bread cubes
  • olive oil spray
  • 1 cup bacon rashers, chopped into 1 inch
  • 2 cos lettuce, cut into desired size
  • 4 egg, boiled, peeled and quartered
  • 6-8 anchovy fillets
  • 1/4 cup Kewpie Japanese dressing
  • Served with shaved parmesan cheese.

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 180°C. Spread the bread cubes into even layer on a sheet pan and spray with oil. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. If using fresh bread this might take a little longer. And if using stale or old bread it may brown quicker, make sure to check on it. Set aside to cool completely.
  • Cook the bacon in a non-stick pan over a medium heat. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until brown and crisp. Drained in a paper towel and set aside.
  • In a serving bowl, combine the lettuce, croutons, bacon, anchovy fillets and boiled egg. Drizzle over the salad dressing and parmesan.
