Best Spicy Crispy Fish Fillet

The best spicy crispy fish fillet recipe, this is so delicious and very easy to prepare. I used jewfish fillet, but you can use other fish like barramundi fish, cod, snapper, nile perch or any fish fillet with white firm flesh is best for frying.

What to serve with the best spicy crispy fish fillet?

Best served with special fried rice, potato chips, salads or just on its own with sweet chili sauce or mayonnaise.

How to make the best spicy crispy fish fillet

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams jewfish fillets (barramundi, cod, snapper) or any firm white flesh fish fillet
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstach
  • 1/2 cup water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 4-5 gloves garlic chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1-2 pieces chilies chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped spring onion
  • 1/4 cup red cupsicum (red bell pepper)

Instructions:

  • Cut fish into desired size, seasoned with salt and pepper. Set aside
  • In a medium bowl sift flour and cornstarch make a well in a centre add egg and water, mix into a smooth batter. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in a non stick fry pan, dip fish pieces in batter to coat completely. Fry fish into hot oil and cook until golden brown.
  • Drain on a paper towels. Set aside cooked fish.
  • In a wok heat oil, add garlic, onion and chilies. Stir fry over medium heat until soften. Add fish pieces toss over medium heat until all combined.
  • Garnish with chopped spring onions and red cupsicum.
  • Served with fried rice, salad or potato chips.
